At first the group was called Lylas which was short for Love You Like A Sister but they were challenged on this by a group called The Lylas which has four of Bruno Mars's sisters in claimed the X Factor group stole their name. The girl group then changed their name to 1432 which means "I Love You Too". Their name was announced on the first live show of the series where they performed Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". However Simon Cowell and LA Reid were critical of the name and requested another name change. After the first week they were in the sing off with Sister C. 1432 performed Skyscraper and made it through to the final 12. Simon Cowell then revealed that the group would be named by the public from suggestions made online.
