Earlier this week, we heard the best news we’ve heard all year. Ed Sheeran is going on tour!
Ed Sheeran announced the exciting news on his official Twitter account on Monday, saying: “I’m back on tour in the UK and Ireland this October. On sale Friday morning xx”
And it was definitely the news that fans have been waiting for!
He also promises to announce tour dates for the rest of the world too, as his manager also posted on Twitter: “We cant announce dates EVERYWHERE at the same time, more news to follow on other countries…”
This follows the announcement that Ed will be hitting us with a brand new album very soon, and his manager promised that the album would definitely be out by the time he kicks off the tour.
The tour kicks off on October 8th 2014, at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena, before heading to more popular UK cities including Leeds, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Newcastle and Manchester. The tour will then come to a close on October 30th at Glasgow’s The SSE Hydro arena. But, of course that’s not all as we expect Ed will be jetting off to somewhere different after this to delight them with his music!
Speaking of his seemingly low-key shows on the tour, Ed said: “It’s going to be 100% solo,”
“There’s going to be no bands, no back dancers, no backing singers, no flames, no fireworks, just me with an acoustic guitar for two hours hopefully playing songs that people know.”
Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday 10th January) at 9am.
