Alternative rock band Maximo Park have announced details of a UK tour in 2014.
The tour will celebrate the release of their fifth studio album Too Much Information, on February 3rd 2014. The album is a follow-up to their 2012 release The National Health.
The tracklist for the upcoming album includes the following singles: ‘Give, Get, Take’, ‘Brain Cells’, ‘Leave This Island’, ‘Lydia, The Ink Will Never Dry’, ‘My Bloody Mind’, ‘Is It True?’, ‘Drinking Martinis’, ‘I Recognise The Light’, ‘Midnight On The Hill’, ‘Her Name Was Audre’, ‘Where We’re Going’ including deluxe tracks ‘Middlesbrough Man’ _ The Fall (originally titled ‘Edinburgh Man’, ‘I’ll Be Here In The Morning’ – Townes Van Zandt, ‘Lover, Lover, Lover ‘ – Leonard Cohen, ‘Northern Sky’ – Nick Drake, ‘Fade Into You’ – Mazzy Star.
Speaking of the new album, the band’s frontman Paul Smith said: “Our lyrics and our music will never be too-cool-for-school – we are an emotional band even if it might be too much information for some.”
They will commence their tour in March 2014, visiting all of the major cities in the UK.
The tour will kick off in Portsmouth, and come to a close in Newcastle before playing Bristol, Glasgow, Liverpool, Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, Norwich, Oxford and London.
