Morrissey has announced a one-off gig in Manchester for this August.
Frontman of The Smiths, with whom he had four huge selling popular albums, and a huge number of memorable singles. Morrissey has also had a glowing solo career, garnering three number one UK albums and nine top ten singles.
Last year, he embarked on a UK wide tour, taking in arenas in Nottingham, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Leeds, Glasgow, Belfast and Birmingham. However, he noticeably didn’t play a homecoming gig in Manchester, where he hasn’t played live for four years.
That is until now… Morrissey has just announced his first gig in the city since 2012, playing Manchester Arena on 20th August.
Tickets for the tour went on sale on Friday 8th July, and as expected it sold out almost immediately.
Revealing the tour news on fansite True-To-You, it was confirmed: “This will be Morrissey’s first appearance in Manchester for four years, and his only 2016 show in England.”
He’ll be joined on the tour by special guest opening act Damien Dempsey.
