The Who have announced a summer tour for 2016.
The legendary rockers are heading out on a five-date arena tour of the UK this summer.
The tour dates come as part of their “The Who Hits 50!” tour taking place this year to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The band are currently playing shows in North America throughout May, to be followed by shows in Europe prior to their UK dates.
Last year, the band were forced to cancel the entire American leg of the tour, due to Roger Daltrey’s illness with meningitis. At the time, the singer said: “We are very sorry to disappoint our fans in this way. The doctors tell me I will make a complete recovery but that I should not do any touring this year.”
Guitarist Pete Townshend added “we will come back stronger than ever.” And true to that, they’re back this year.
Glasgow will be their first UK stop, with a show at the SSE Hydro on August 29th. The band will also play at Manchester Arena, Sheffield Arena and Birmingham’s Genting Arena, before rounding up their UK dates at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on 7 September
Tickets for the shows are on sale now.
