V Festival has announced the line-up for its Glee Club Comedy Tent.

The festival, which takes place at both Hylands Park, Essex and Weston Park, Staffordshire, already has a packed line-up of music stars.

Kasabian and Calvin Harris have been announced as headliners, while Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, George Ezra, Olly Murs, and Stereophonics amongst many others will also perform.

It’s not just about the music though. The Glee Club Comedy Tent is back as usual for the festival’s 20th anniversary, and will be headlined by Frankie Boyle, Russell Kane, Nick Helm and Seann Walsh.

In between the guest comedians are MCs Kevin McCarthy and Mark Olver, who will be introducing acts such as Shappi Khorsandi, Gary Delaney, Matt Richardson and Jarlath Regan to the stage.

Andrew O’Neill, Paul McCaffrey, Jen Brister, Marlon Davis, Prince Abdi, Craig Murray, Suzi Ruffell and Danny McLoughlin are also set to give the crowds a giggle, as are Luisa Omielan, Andy Robinson, Tom Deacon, Simon King and Gareth Richards.

Talking about his upcoming appearance in the comedy tent, former Xtra Factor host Matt Richardson said: “I loved V Festival so much last year, I can’t wait to go back.

“Comedy seems to be getting more and more popular at festivals and this year will be extra special as it’s the 20th anniversary.”

Meanwhile Suzi Ruffell said: “It’s an honour to be joining a tent crammed full of the finest comedy talent around.

“As a comedian, you’re usually on your own when on the road, so I’m looking forward to getting together with the rest of the line-up and watching them on stage too!”

The 20th annual V Festival takes place over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd August.
